DPW Responds to MDE

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is committed to being a protector of our environment and the health and vitality of the waterways that serve our communities. This summer, MDE’s inspectors issued notices of reported violations that included mostly reporting and business process concerns, as well as some violations regarding the Back River’s and Patapsco’s National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits. DPW has corrected the reporting and business process violations, which includes implementing corrective measures regarding the MDE report.

Mayor Scott Calls On Residents to Register for Annual Fall Cleanup

Mayor Brandon M. Scott has announced details for his annual Fall Cleanup: Clean Where You Live event. Residents are encouraged to join Mayor Scott and Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell on Saturday, October 23, 2021, to participate in the Mayor’s Fall Cleanup by putting on a mask and picking up a broom to clean up loose litter around their properties, alleyways, and curbsides.

Mayor, DPW Announce Details of Recycling Cart Distribution, to Begin September 28

Mayor Brandon M. Scott and the Department of Public Works (DPW) have  announced the plan to begin distribution of new recycling carts to more than 190,000 City households beginning Tuesday, September 28. The five-month distribution process will provide all curbside-eligible City households with a free 65-gallon rolling, lidded recycling cart.

Mayor, DPW Announce Resumption of Bulk Trash, White Goods Collections

Mayor Brandon M. Scott and Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell announced that bulk trash and white goods collection services for residents will resume on Saturday, October 2, 2021, with a modified schedule.
