Stakeholders Invited to Provide Comment on the 90% Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP)

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) has released the 90% draft of the 10-Year Solid Waste Management Plan, a future focused strategy for managing the City’s waste streams. DPW is asking residents and stakeholders to help guide the plan’s development by providing written comments by mail, on the Department’s website or at public meetings.

DPW Extends Public Comment Period for Modified Sanitary Sewer Consent Decree Phase II Plan Until April 18, 2023 

Today, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) announced the extension of the public comment period for the Modified Consent Decree Phase II Plan Report. DPW is now accepting public comments pertaining to this document through April 18, 2023. The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) granted DPW approval to extend the public comment period for the MCD Phase II Plan Report.

DPW Announces Immediate Lift of Precautionary Boil Water Advisory in Cockeysville, Hunt Valley, Sparks and Broadmead

On Friday, February 17, 2023, DPW announced that the Precautionary Boil Water Advisory (BWA) has been lifted, effective immediately, for the Cockeysville, Hunt Valley, Sparks and Broadmead areas of Northern Baltimore County. In compliance with the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE)regulations, water sampling was conducted at sites in these impacted areas and all results confirmed water is safe to consume.  

Progress Continues on the 20-Inch Water Main Repair Boil Water Advisory Remains in Effect

The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory (BWA) issued Tuesday night by the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) remains in effect for the Cockeysville, Hunt Valley, Sparks, and Broadmead communities in Northern Baltimore County following a 20-inch water main break Monday evening along 13816 York Road. DPW has completed the repair of the 20-inch water main and has flushed and restored water to the system. We are currently in the process of restoring the worksite and anticipate re-opening the impacted portion of York Road by Thursday afternoon.
