DPW Launches Logo Design Contest

Help Showcase Upcoming Cleaner, Greener, Beautiful-Baltimore Community Engagement Initiative

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell announced a logo design contest for DPW’s upcoming Cleaner, Greener, Beautiful-Baltimore campaign, a new community engagement program that the Department is plans to launch in September. The Cleaner, Greener, Beautiful- Baltimore campaign is designed to engage the community in DPW’s work to eliminate illegal dumping and reduce blight all around our City, especially in our streets, storm drains and alley ways.

The logo design contest is open to all Baltimore City residents. DPW invites professional and amateur artists to enter the contest.

The deadline to apply is August 19, 2022.

The winning logo will be used for the branding and promotion of Cleaner, Greener, Beautiful-Baltimore citywide activities and/or events, and featured on the DPW website and social media platforms.


ABOUT DESIGNS


All designs must be of original artwork and capture the Cleaner, Greener, Beautiful-Baltimore’s mission.
Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, relevance, craftmanship, and composition. Entries must also reflect the elements of Baltimore and the Department of Public Works.

Winning entries will receive the following prizes:

  • 1st Place: $1,500 to be used to support a Cleaner, Greener, Beautiful-Baltimore event.
  • 2nd Place: $500 to be used to support a Cleaner, Greener, Beautiful- Baltimore community event.
  • Honorable Mentions: Certificates and name recognition on the DPW website.


    • COMPETITION GUIDELINES AND SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS


  • Participants can submit up to 2 different design images.
  • Competition is open to 2D and 3D logo designs.
  • Logo designs should be scalable and made to suit different resolutions, print and digital media. • File size may not exceed 10MBs.
  • Logos must be submitted as jpg, png, gif, pdf and eps files. • Submission of all source files is required to receive any prize or award.
  • Final designs will not be copyrighted by the winner. Competition winner must relinquish all rights to DPW.
  • Submissions containing filtered photos, photo manipulations, collages, animations or copyrighted designs are NOT allowed
  • All submissions must be received by August 19, 2022, for consideration. Submissions received after the deadline are ineligible.
  • Submissions must be sent to DPW Cleaner Greener Email in a zip or soft file by 11:59 PM
