Baltimore to Open Extra Disposal Site for Small Commercial Trash Haulers

Baltimore’s Northwest Transfer Station will open on April 1, 2017, to small, commercial trash haulers who remove loads of unwanted household goods. This provides another legal option for dumping in addition to the Quarantine Road Landfill in South Baltimore, and is the latest step by Mayor Catherine E. Pugh and DPW to find ways to help keep Baltimore clean.

Baltimore’s Municipal Trash Can Program Wins ‘Project of the Year’

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., announced that DPW has been selected for a major industry award for the City’s Municipal Trash Can Program.  The program has been named “2017 Project of the Year” by the American Public Works Association (APWA) Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works reports that a sanitary sewer overflow into the Gwynns Falls occurred on February 27 and lasted until 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017.

Mulberry Street Sewer Infrastructure Work Nears Completion

Extensive sewer infrastructure repairs and improvements by the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) will require the closure of West Mulberry Street between Howard Street and Park Avenue on Friday, February 24.
