City's Leaf Collection Program Begins Oct. 17

Autumn has arrived and so have the falling leaves in Baltimore City. Leaf collection season begins Monday, October 17, 2016, and will continue through Monday, January 9, 2017. During these dates residents can call 311 for special Monday pickups of up to 20 bags of leaves. 

Sign Up Now for the Mayor’s Fall Cleanup

Baltimore City Department of Public Works Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., reminds citizens that the deadline to sign up for Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake’s Fall Cleanup is fast approaching.

The sign-up deadline for your group, church, business, school, non-profit, or block of neighbors to participate is Monday, October 17, 2016. 

BaltiMeter Billing Switches On

The next wave of water billing for Baltimore City customers begins now. The nearly four-decade-old billing system used by the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) has been replaced with modern, state-of-the-art software and hardware. The first of the new, monthly bills for customers in the City will be mailed the middle of next week and continue into November.

Sanitary Sewer Overflows Totals Reported

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) estimates that 2.1 million gallons of rain water combined with waste water was released from three structured overflows, into the Jones Falls, during heavy rains on Thursday, September 29. These occurrences were announced last week.

This key position serves as the bridge between water utilities and the federal government.The committee's focus centers around regulatory and legislative policy, and WEF local member agencies.
