Energy Experts - Partnering across Baltimore
Our energy sleuths are going building to building identifying the best bang for the buck in energy. And not just in municipal buildings.

In 2014, we launched a collaboration with Healthy Neighborhoods, Inc to assist 26 facilities for 11 nonprofits across the City. Using Maryland Energy Administration grants, we upgraded building envelopes, replaced lights, and installed new equipment.

We put more than $1 million of grants in shelters and facilities for the homeless and other special needs populations in Baltimore City. This investment resulted in annual energy savings of $313,000 – savings that will benefit services to almost 3,000 low income beneficiaries.

And we’re not done. The Office of Sustainable Energy is actively identifying the next opportunity to reach more of the Baltimore residents most in need.
