Application for Qualitative Control Waiver: LNG HP Water Main Piping Remediation

The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a qualitative control and quantitative control waivers.

Project Description:

The project has an approximate area of 0.2 acres and is located west of S. Hanover Street, north of I-95, south of W. Ostend Street, and east of the Patapsco River. The project will consist of replacing approximately 800 lineal feet of the existing (buried) 12-inch diameter ductile iron water-main pipe, with a more durable PVC pipe for the existing water distribution system that supplies water to fire hydrants for a 0.2 acre portion of the site. This new pipe material will improve the reliability of the water system and provide added protection against corrosion.

The Applicant is requesting a qualitative control waiver in accordance with Article 7, Division II, §23-2 of the City Code. The Applicant has demonstrated that the 0.2 ac of the project will return the disturbed area to a predevelopment runoff condition. The applicant will not be required to provide qualitative control controls for 0.2 ac of this project.
