DPW Announces New Stormwater Advisory Members

BALTIMORE, MD – The Stormwater Advisory Committee (SWAC) formed by the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) has added three new members:
- Ellis Brown, Morgan State University
- Anthony Pressley, Druid Heights CDC
- Ann Robinson, Mt. Winans Community Association
The new members fill vacancies created by three members who left the Committee in 2015. The purpose of SWAC is to advise DPW on stormwater projects, programs, and issues, and to help educate stakeholder groups on related matters. To date the Advisory Committee has reviewed and provided comment on:
- The City's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Watershed Implementation Plan and Trash TMDL Implementation Plan;
- Stormwater fee regulations for port industries;
- Proposed changes to the State's stormwater fee legislation;
- DPW's stormwater utility fund and how stormwater fees are used to improve water quality;
- The Clean Water Baltimore website and associated educational material.
The Stormwater Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public and will be advertised in advance. Meetings will be held on a quarterly basis.
