Water Bill Rate Adjustment Calculator
BALTIMORE CITY CUSTOMERS ONLY
This calculator may be used to determine how your current bill will change under the new rate structure and switch to monthly billing.
Currently, billing is based partly on the size of your water meter. Most single-family residential buildings have 5/8-inch or 3/4-inch meters
How To Use The Water Bill Rate Adjustment Calculator
After you select a meter size, enter the quarterly consumption from a recent bill. Use the amount shown as Total based on 100 cubic feet of water. Then click the “Calculate” button and the calculator will show the following in the numbered boxes in the calculator:
- What your water and sewer charges are on a monthly basis;
- What your water and sewer charges would be on a monthly basis under the new rates, and;
- What your water and sewer charges would be on a monthly basis under the new rates and the new rate structure. This figure may be higher or lower than the second figure because we will eliminate the “minimum billing” model that charges a flat fee for a set amount of water, regardless of whether you use that full amount. The new bill will include fees to manage your account and to pay for the pipes and plants that treat and carry the water and sewage to and from your house. But it will no longer include the minimum water consumption charge.
Please remember that this calculator is meant to provide an estimate of your new monthly bill. It does not include fees for Stormwater Remediation or Bay Restoration. It also does not include any charges or credits to your account. Your actual bill will fluctuate depending on your monthly water consumption.
