DPW Offices and Sanitation Yards Closed for Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2025

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Matthew Garbark reminds residents that Tuesday, November 11, 2025, is Veterans Day, a city holiday. As a result, all DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED in observance of the holiday.

There will be NO trash or recycling collections on Tuesday, November 11. The make-up collection day will be Saturday, November 15.  Additionally, there will be NO street sweeping due to the holiday closure.

DPW facilities will be closed to residents and haulers on November 11:

Northwest Transfer Station - 5030 Reisterstown Road
Quarantine Road Landfill - 6100 Quarantine Road
Northwest Residential Drop-off Center - 2840 Sisson Street
Eastern Residential Drop-off Center - 6101 Bowleys Lane
City’s 311 Call Center Open on Holidays and Weekends

The City’s 311 Call Center will be open on Veterans Day and all other City-observed holidays. The 311-call center stands ready to take service requests from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, 365 days a year.

DPW reminds residents and water customers to report water/sewer emergencies to the City’s 311 call center. To report a water/sewer emergency, such as a water main break, Baltimore City residents can dial 311, and Baltimore County residents can call (443) 263-2220.

Requests can also be submitted online or through the Balt311 mobile app, from Google Play for Android users or the Apple App Store for iOS users.

DPW Announces Holiday Service Schedule Update Christmas Eve: Trash, Recycling, and Street Sweeping to Operate as Scheduled

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is announcing updates to its holiday service schedule following Mayor Brandon M. Scott’s declaration that Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025 (Christmas Eve) will be observed as a City holiday. Although Christmas Eve is a City holiday, DPW trash and recycling collection, street sweeping and sanitation yards will operate as scheduled.
