DPW to Host In-Person Community Meeting at the War Memorial

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) will host an in-person community meeting on Wednesday, January 15, at the War Memorial Building at 101 N. Gay Street, Baltimore, MD 21202 (Lower Level), beginning at 6:00 PM. This event is the third in a series of community meetings designed to allow residents to provide feedback on the proposed water rate adjustments.
During the meeting, attendees can engage directly with DPW leadership, including Director Khalil Zaied and Interim Deputy Director Matthew Garbark. DPW staff will present an overview of the proposed rate increases, focusing on the critical infrastructure improvements and enhanced service reliability these adjustments will support. Information on assistance programs to help residents manage potential cost impacts will also be shared.
DPW is committed to transparency and collaboration with the community. "We want to ensure that residents are fully informed and feel supported throughout this process," said DPW Director Khalil Zaied. "Your input is invaluable as we work to maintain the sustainability of our water, wastewater, and stormwater systems for future generations."

The department would like to inform residents that the meeting originally scheduled for January 28 will now be held in a virtual format. Hosted by DPW, the meeting will focus on what customers can expect following the Board of Estimates' consideration of the proposed rate increases on January 22.
Residents are encouraged to attend and bring their questions or concerns about the proposed changes. Those unable to attend in person can still share their feedback through an online comment form.
